New Beginnings

through out the class there has been good times and bad just like any class. Over all what did you like best about the class. What could you recommend for incoming students. Also what could you suggest to improve the class next quarter?

  1. I like how the whole class had many similar experiences. Of course most of us were Asian, but it was cool to talk to other students in the class about those experiences. I would recommend for upcoming students to blog as much as you can and to be open in conversations. And to improve the class, maybe get a different room so it would be easier to get into groups.

  2. There seemed like a lot more writing assignments (essays)than we had gone over in the syllabus.

  3. Something that I liked the best in this class was the interaction in the classroom such as the group discussions. I feel like when we were divided into groups a lot of students had things to share and found common similarities and learned something new from each other. Something that I recommend for incoming students would be to blog weekly so they don't fall behind. The blogs are simple so there's no reason to avoid them and they can be intriguing if you give them a chance. To improve the classroom I would say a different room as well because its a discussion type class so it would be more convenient to form groups.

  4. I enjoyed how the class was structured and how Mr. Mendoza kept things up to date with the course website. I recommend to turn in work in a timely manner and be to class on time. I think the reading should be spaced out a little more to give people more time to absorb the information.

  5. I liked how everyone had similar experiences and liked how we all could relate to what we or our parents have been through. The advice that I recommend to the incoming students is to not be shy and just say what you got to say when it comes to learning about what we learned about.

  6. I really liked how everyone was respectful of each other and that we all took the time to listen to one another.

Our group projects were fun, and as Brooklyn stated, although we were divided by groups, many of us could relate to other people in other groups. Our similarities and differences have allowed us to know more about ourselves and other students on campus.
