From Alison:

Q1: Bich uses impressive food in her writing, such as toll house cookies, green
sticky rice cake and american meat; in your experience, what food is related to your
Asian American identity and experience? Explain.

Q2:By reading of some Korean American immigrant history stories, what could they do to make a positive differnt when their social-economic status is not ideal in Ameica compare when they are back in Korea? Would you regret about the immigration and if that happen to you and would you still want to go to America?

  1. Well i would say we were best known for "lumpia" fried meat rolls, "Pansit" noodles and "Adobo" pork or chicken marinated with vinegar and soy sauce. With that kind of food known to be Filipino's Specialty.

regardless where you come from even it is not ideal of your social-economic status in this country compare to where you come from in my own point of view i will still want to stay in this country because this country is very generous and this is the land of oppurtunity. You can do more and explore your interest without any fear and hesitation to be more successful in life. Not any country would provide safe environment and welfare of the people only in this country they priotize their people.

  2. I'm as an Asian. I don't really think there are much food that consist both culture Asian American. I would say it this way, if you are Asian American. At home, you eat Asian food, going out with friends or co worker, you prefer to eat American food.

  3. I think she named her chapters food names because thats what they were based on. It was a memory.

The Green Sticky Rice Cake is also a food that relates my Asian American Identity. My mother makes it every year before we celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year). I feel like even though i was born in America, i still eat and have some traditions of my parents native background.

Pho is another one because it is an asian dish in which americans love to eat as well.
